No this is NOT a metaphor of lowered wages and economic recession. This is an undeniable modern day FACT!

This is the First official episode of “The Full Monty Leadership Show” and in all honesty for me it is the most important show I have ever done.

I know the idea of there being slaves in our modern world seems outrageous…you may even argue that there are no slave ships in any harbour of the world.

Although that is fairly true, what you may not know is; there are an estimated 27, 000,000 (twenty seven million) people enslaved in our “modern day world” right now! Even though when President Abraham Lincoln permanently abolished slavery throughout the entire United States in 1865, it has Not gone away.

The difference is that slaves are now brought in and work in every corner of the world.  They are used as commercial sex slaves, adult and child pornography, torture, and slave labor. Worst of all, It Is Happening Right Under Your Nose!

On October 27th, 2012 the debate about climate change and rising sea levels became a rather moot point for anyone living on the eastern seaboard of the United States.

Hurricane Sandy with her 100+ mile an hour winds demolished and devastated 8 of the United States with the death toll reaching more 100 people and leaving more than 4.6 million homes and businesses without power.

Whatever side of the isle you stand on, (“radical environmentalist”  or “radical skeptic”) there needs to come a point where people’s lives become more important than who’s right about climate change, or how we got here… The fact is we are here.

We are losing 150-200 species that are part of our very fragile ecosystem every 24 hours!

Let me hammer that one home; that’s nearly 1,000 times what is considered to be the “natural” rate.  Many biologists say, this is greater than anything the world has experienced since the vanishing of the dinosaurs nearly 65m years ago.

Listen folks, the mentality of;  if I’m not directly experiencing it, then it’s not real, certainly got a slap upside the head from our pissed off aunty (Hurricane)  Sandy, and it’s time we woke up.

My Guest on this show is John Englander, he is a pre-eminent leader in his depth of knowledge, understanding, and ability to make the subject of changing weather patterns and the impact it’s having on

the oceans simple enough for someone with no such background to understand and take positive action.

He is an Oceanographer extraordinaire… He has been the CEO of the International Sea Keepers Society. However, if you really want to understand how respected this guy is in his field, in 1997 the most respected oceanographer of our time… Mr Jacques Cousteau asked John to take over the leadership of The Cousteau Society.

John Englander is also a Special Adviser on Climate, to Friends of the United Nations

Over the last 3 years John has been writing his book: High Tide on Main Street, to bring awareness of rising ocean levels. It’s a book in which he clearly predicted the super storm of

Hurricane Sandy and the impact it would have on Manhattan.

Just for the record it should be noted that generally speaking; those born into “Gen-X” and the “Boomer” generations doubt the work ethic, the motivation and the innovation of the milennial’s, a generation brought up on-line.

But there is an irony in all of this; what if the greatest minds we have ever know are in fact the millennials?

My guest on this show is one such individual…  As this show goes out for the first time; Ben Gulak is presently just 23 years old.  He’s a businessman and inventor of The Uno, an eco-friendly electric powered vehicle that looks like a motor cycle doing a wheelie on its front tire. The vehicle got international attention, and eventually landing him on the cover of Popular Science magazine.

And by the way, Ben had already developed two highly acclaimed prototypes before he was 21.

In the midst of a media frenzy, Ben ended up on “The Dragon’s Den” (Canadian version of “The Shark Tank”) and all 5 Dragon’s, who usually torture the entrepreneurs who show up on the show, all wanted in!
